SANDRA KOKIC
From the beginning, my path has woven art, body, and spirit together. I first trained as a tailor and costume designer for theatre in the early 2000s, before stepping onto the stage through Dance Theater & Dance Therapy. In 2007, my practice deepened into Dance Meditation — a doorway towards Tantra. Pilgrimages to India and initiations into Tantric meditation practices opened a new dimension in my work: the body as temple for Self expression and for healing through Art.
I was, in a sense, reclaiming the stage even in my early years — always dancing, always expressing, though not always allowing myself to be fully seen. In 2009 I entered Drama School, and by 2011 Paris called. From 2013, I lived there for two years in an ongoing love affair with the city. Rather than expanding my artistic portfolio outwardly, the expansion unfolded inwardly — an internal transformation that shaped both my art and my presence. Alongside, I created five short films with all-female casts, exploring myth and female Identity and archetypes, while still guiding others as a Tantra Therapist.
Around 2020, I began with pilgrimages through France, filming and recording women’s voices in churches and cathedrals — a reclamation of the Divine Feminine in spaces long silenced.
My lens has always been drawn to women. The first I photographed on analog film was in 2000, and that thread continues today. After more than twelve years as a Tantric Guide, my work now fuses embodiment with art — where the camera becomes ritual, storytelling becomes transformation, and image becomes soul.
For me all is spiritual. And the Divine Feminine is calling us to be respected, remembered and reclaimed through our artistic expression and in the depths of our bodies and minds.
My work is to make that embodiment – visible & experienceable.
For you and the world.
